Visa

According to the student’s nationality or country of residence, the student must submit their visa application at the nearest Portuguese Embassy/Consulate.

Apply for a visa at the closest Portuguese Embassy/Consulate, considering where you’re from or where you currently reside.

If you don’t know which embassy or consulate you should go to, check out this page.

Visas must be requested up until 60 days before the start of classes, the 30th of November for Spring editions and the 30th of May for fall editions, respectively. The non-compliance to SUPERNOVA’s team and Consular services requests could lead to not receiving the required Visa in time, which SUPERNOVA does not take responsibility for.

Although this is the recommended procedure, we encourage applicants to begin their Visa application as soon as they receive confirmation of acceptance into the program.

It’s essential to understand that the University cannot involve itself in any stage of your visa application procedure but can supply necessary documents or assist in connecting with consular services if necessary.

Given the duration of the SUPERNOVA Foundation Programme, we generally recommend that our applicants apply for a temporary stay visaThe temporary stay visa is intended to allow entry into Portugal for stays of less than one year. It is valid for the period of stay and allows multiple entries into the national territory. For more information about this type of visa, please visit this page.

This is the visa that we recommend being applied for at the consulate services right after acceptance into the foundation program.

These are the University recomendations regarding your visa application

  • Start the process as soon as possible to avoid any delays.
  • Keep us updated about the process via email or WhatsApp.
  • Specify to the SUPERNOVA team the consular service where you will be applying for your visa.
